We are back with Dave and Backcountry Skiing Canada to deliver you our 2nd Avalanche Condition Report of the Season.
Here are some key highlights to be aware of:
- Rain event last week created a 10cm thick melt-freeze crust, this has lowered our avalanche hazard and created a very solid base.
- 20-30 cm's of snow is forecasted this weekend, this melt-freeze crust will be our main layer of concern as it will act as a bed surface for avalanches to slide on.
- Opening day is tomorrow - Silver King and the Hummer Handle Tow will be open. Limited terrain will be open, ski and ride with care, and obey all signage.
- Summit and Glory terrain will remain closed, we will be working to prepare the terrain for opening so please avoid these areas.
As always play safe out there!
