Rest Assured
A good night’s sleep is priceless any day of the week, but even more so when you’re skiing or shredding the next day. Like food and drink, sleep is a basic biological need that you’ve got to satisfy before honing your steep and deep turns.
You know a ski resort is legit when it offers overnight camping on site. But even if you’re not up for roughing it in the wild (helloooooo nature), there are a ton of great accommodation options nearby. Whitewater’s very own shuttle even stops at most of them a couple of times each day, offering a relaxing door-to-door service.
Odds are you’ll be staying in the eclectic mountain town of Nelson, a short 20-minute drive to Whitewater. Most accommodations are downtown, providing easy walking access to wicked restaurants and boutique shops. It's a simple formula for maximizing your time this winter; ski, eat, sleep, repeat.
Behold, a variety of accommodation options that will meet your every need from A to Zzz.
First up, the grand daddy of Nelson; the Hume Hotel takes the prize for combining heritage charm with modern amenities. Choose from the Library Lounge, Mike’s Place Pub, or the General Store restaurant to fill your boots. Or unwind in Aura Spa & Salon on site, where you can even order a boozy drink to complete the après-ski experience and relive your day on the slopes.
Over at the Best Western Plus Baker Street Inn, you’ll find a comfortable and amenity packed place, complete with hot tub and a totally new thin crust pizza restaurant just in time for ski season. At the other end of downtown is Mountain Hound Inn, a clean and affordable stay in the heart of Nelson. Just around the corner is Mistiso’s Place Vacation Rentals, with fully furnished suites in an Arts and Crafts décor. Lovely.
Or, choose from a double dose of prestige. The Prestige Resort is the only waterfront hotel in town, complete with unbeatable views and great dining options. Pony up for a room on the top floor if you want to live like the king of the hill. Further down the road is the more modest Prestige Inn, offering great value in a convenient location to Lakeside Park.
If you’re looking for a hip and modern place to rest your head, the Adventure Hotel is a great option. A variety of room formats cater to different budgets, while shared lounge areas encourage swapping of epic ski stories, and whatever else might go down. The lively energy continues at Uptown Tavern, Louie’s Steakhouse, and Empire Coffee, all located within the hotel.
A few blocks up from downtown (and closer to Whitewater) is the very ski chalet-like Alpine Inn & Suites. Newly renovated rooms, including some with kitchen facilities, provide a peaceful and comfortable DIY stay. For those searching for something a little more rustic and off the beaten path, look no further than the acclaimed Logden Lodge. These beautiful mountain cabins are tucked away in a quiet forest setting to the south of Whitewater.
Wherever you choose to shack up, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable stay while visions of powder runs dance in your head. Sweet dreams snow lovers!
