What's New at Whitewater 23/24
Below are some of the highlights and improvements that have been made over the summer to enhance your experience at Whitewater this season:
NEW Quad Chairlift & Terrain Expansion
Lift construction is in full swing with the Poma Lift Company installing a new fixed-grip quad chairlift, the Raven / Yutlxʷ / Qukin chair. This quad will take our guests from the main base area to the top of the Silver King Ridge and move as many as 1200 people per hour in its first season, giving skiers and snowboarders inbound access to more than 123 additional acres of steep and deep skiing as well as 14 new groomed and gladed runs.
The new expansion will also bring an increased amount of vertical to Whitewater Ski Resort as the new lift will take you 163 meters higher than the Silver King chair. The Raven chair will also be a welcome addition for beginner skiers and riders as it will reduce usage of the current Silver King chairlift.
Plus, down at the base we’ve moved the Taco Tin to the mountain side of the Day Lodge and beside the extended licensed patio, so you can enjoy our famous pow chow without missing a moment of the action! It’s a great year to be a Season Passholder at Whitewater!
RFID Cards
We continue to invest in technology that provides increased reliability and a superior guest experience by expanding RFID cards across all of our ticket products. That means that Passes from last season are reloadable online, and you’ll spend less time waiting at Guest Services and in lift lines and more time skiing or riding.
Guests will be able load Resort Credit onto their Season Passes and Loyalty Cards to pay for food and beverage, retail products, and Snow School lessons. We are also introducing some beautiful new artwork on our RFID products, featuring a great local artist, Bryn Stevenson.
Hummingbird Lodge & Campground
Introducing Whitewater Ski Resort’s first foray into year-round adventure, the Hummingbird Lodge & Campground. Our newest addition brings you front-door access to nature’s playground. Offering 10 RV Campsites (6 sites with 30-amp electrical hookups) as well as a rentable boutique 2-Bedroom Private Suite tucked away above the Hummingbird Lodge. This is your newest hub for winter exploration and on-mountain accommodations.
The Hummingbird Lodge will also be your homebase for avalanche education courses and backcountry rentals. Our licensed Café & General Store will also be open daily throughout the winter, featuring some of our delicious staples and newest favourites. Our winter bookings for the Suite and RV sites are now live, so act quickly before they get snapped up!
