SROAMazing Race
March 21, 2025
The Ski Resort Operations & Management (SROAM) Program at Selkirk College invites the entire snow-loving community to Whitewater on Friday, March 21 for a day packed with fun and engaging activities around the resort that all focus on avalanche safety.
The annual SROAMazing Race will include a variety of family-friendly activities and challenges organized by first-year SROAM students. Participation in the race requires teams of four snow-lovers of any age, so get your friends and family together to spend a great day on the mountain. Teams are encouraged to wear their most vibrant and awesome Canadian-themed outfits while participating in the day’s fun activities. Plus, there are prizes up for grabs in a number of categories, including best-dressed!
Entry into the SROAMazing Race is $40 per team (cash only) with proceeds going towards the Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundary Society (AABBS), a non-profit society formed to provide free and affordable Avalanche Skills Training to youth between the ages of 13 to 18 in the Kootenay area.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the event: teenagers, adults, and families with kids ages 6-12. SROAM students have been reaching out and collecting great prizes from amazing local sponsors, as well as other ski resorts in the Kootenay area. Prizes will be awarded to top performing teams and all participants are entered in the event’s big raffle.
Register now at the Whitewater Downtown Office or at the link below until March 21. Registration will also be open at 10:00am on-mountain on the day of the event.
The SROAMazing Race will kick off at 12:00pm with the prize ceremony taking place at 3:00pm, so prepare your best costumes and come join us for an awesome day up at Whitewater!
