Bryan Ralph

Bryan “Ralphie” Ralph is a renowned and beloved action sports photographer based in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. From snow-capped peaks in high-alpine terrain to single-track trails in the depths of the forest, Ralphie regularly shoots with some of the world’s most accomplished skiers, snowboarders and mountain bikers, and his unique and captivating photography consistently graces the pages of the sports’ top magazines and brand campaigns.

Cam Shute

Cam Shute has lived and skied in the Kootenays for the past 15 years, and is looking forward to the next 15 here. He works as a product development consultant in the outdoor industry, and is constantly tinkering with making toys for outdoor pursuits. He loves skiing, climbing, biking, fishing and most of the other mountain sports we do here in the koots. In his spare time he volunteers for the Cube Climbing Gym and for the South Selkirk Backcountry Association.

Jayme Moye

Adventure Journalist Jayme Moye writes about travel, mountain sports and culture, and pushing the limits of human potential. Her career has taken her all over the world, from Afghanistan to Zanzibar. Her award-winning freelance writing appears in Adventure Journal, Alpinist, Canadian Geographic, National Geographic, and Outside, to name a few. Since moving to Nelson in 2017, she has also served as a senior writer for Kootenay Mountain Culture magazine and a reporter for the Headwaters podcast.

Kari Medig

Kari Medig grew up in northern British Columbia with parents who drove a Ford Bronco and made him go cross country skiing. They had matching Nikons they used to photograph mushrooms and other fungi. Kari inherited the cameras and started making pictures of his own. He now travels the world to make images for clients like Patagonia and Outside.

Mark Gallup

With 35 years under his belt, Mark Gallup has seen and shot it all. From winning the Colorado Mountain Media awards, besting 25 global photographers, to dozens of magazine portfolios, about 100 covers, and countless images published worldwide, covering snowy stories where ever snow falls on the planet, Mark has earned what some editors call 'legend' status.

Steve Ogle

Steve Ogle is a local photographer who's been presenting at the Kootenay Coldsmoke Powderfest since the event’s inception. He is focused and driven, whether it’s putting the final touches on Patagonia’s Wild Places project or helping to promote tourism on assignment for Destination British Columbia.

His passion and profession is to record the truest representation of the nature, humanity, and overall spectacle of the world and its inhabitants, including those from his backyard in beautiful Nelson, British Columbia.
