Anatomy of a Powder Day
Powder days are different than other days. Hitting the sack the night before, big juicy flakes falling, it's always tough to get a good night sleep. The anticipation makes it fitful. I tend to rise early, get at least three eggs into me any way I can (who knows when my next meal will be), grab my gear and head out the door.
Time to roll.
On powder days, people in the lodge tend to be preoccupied. With Powder. The usual niceties are suspended—heads down, boots on, gear up and go go.Wait in line for the lift to spin and make some new friends on the way up.

One new friend to my right. Yes--I often approach these days as a single.
And it always amazes me how my spots can remain untracked well into the morning.
Here is a first run down summit side. Not as flat as it looks. Untouched tree skiing.
Wait 'til the bangs subside, then hit the far side of Catch. Sublime.
Not every day is a powder day and that's OK. It makes them all the more special. Check your fave weather product. 'looks like there's another on the way. See ya up at the hill!
