Avalanche Conditions Report #2 - The countdown is on, are you ready?

This last week of November brought some new snow and strong winds in recent days. Whitewater is now reporting a settled snowpack of 85cm at the top of Summit and 50cm around the Day Lodge. The tentative opening date of operations is still Friday, December 6th, weather and conditions permitting, so check back next week for more on that!

For those of you intending on exploring the backcountry around Whitewater please check Avalanche Canada for current conditions, review the Whitewater Off-Season policy, and be respectful to all staff who are working hard to get the mountain ready for you. Once the resort opens uphill travel within bounds is not permitted at any time during the operating season.

More snow is in the forecast so let's all cross our fingers and toes and hope that it brings heaps of that white stuff we all love.
