Avalanche Conditions Report 2017 - #1
Join Whitewater Ski Resorts Avalanche Forecaster Wren McElroy for the first Avalanche Conditions Report for the 2016-17 season. Above 1700m Whitewater has good early season coverage with around 120cms at 2000m, the lower elevations are below normal snow coverage so travel with care. A significant weather system is upon us and will put a heavy load on the snowpack into the weekend. There are a few thin crusts in the upper snowpack with the most significant one down around 40-50 cms that formed on Nov 12. The heavy snowfall and gusty southwest winds that are forecasted over the next few days will likely form reactive storm slabs in planar terrain.

Looking good bro. Glad to see you make it out of there! Wren, you'll have to show us your shoveling technique next time.
