Pillow Talk Vol. 1
Pillow Talk asks Whitewater guests for their version on getting down on the hill. From first timers to those intimate with every detail of the resort, everyone's got a different take on describing their love affair with Whitewater.
After skiing some sweet morning pow during the Christmas holidays, I headed into the lodge for a cuppa jo and struck up a chat with a friendly fellow. He's been ripping it up for over two decades, and still recalls the time before the two-seater Silver King lift (it involved a t-bar and some uphill slogging). He's also seen Nelson's local hill grow steadily, back when it was a rare day that both (just two) parking lots were full. On this powder day in December, all five lots were hopping, and the lodge was buzzing with great vibes.
- First Name? Brian
- Where are you visiting from? Nelson.
- WH2O relationship status? Long-term (20+ years).
- Do you prefer knocking your boots before or after a day on the hill? Before.
- What’s your foreplay routine before diving into some sweet wintry face shots? Shoveling my driveway.
- Does size really matter on the slopes? Nope, unless it's a powder day!
- Any afternoon delight highlights? I'll keep that a secret.
- If Whitewater were a lover, how would you describe its touch? Soft and smooth.
- Apres-ski at the lodge or in town? In town.
- What’s the climax of your WH2O experience? Getting chest deep.
- The perfect ending to a day at WH2O is…Doing it all over again!
- If you weren’t monogamous with Whitewater, where else would you be skiing or riding? Alaska.
Pretty sweet to see someone who's just as stoked about skiing 20 years in as those new to Whitewater are. I took a nod from Brian's enthusiasm and headed back out for a couple more laps before calling it a day.
Stay tuned; we’ll be back with more tales of rolling in the snow soon.
