What are you Yurting about?

The Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries Society (AABBS) and Whitewater Ski Team have come together in conjunction with Whitewater Ski Resort to build the Youth Mountain Education Centre (YMEC, AKA: The Yurt).

The YMEC Building (Yurt) is 30' in diameter or apx 800 sq/ft. and will be home and classroom to the AABBS who provide FREE Youth Avalanche Skills Training Courses to youth in the West Kootenays. When the AABBS are not occupying the new space it will be utilized by the Whitewater Ski Team during training and race days. The hope is that the Yurt will help to alleviate some stress on the lodge on those busy days, and create an on mountain learning area for the AABBS students.

Ongoing fundraising efforts continue to help pay for this amazing structure, so feel free to donate to a great local cause with a check payable to either non-profit society. Also don't forget to buy your Rockstar Raffle ticket which also supports these organizations.
