Managing Avalanche Terrain (M.A.T.) is a focused field-based course designed to expand upon the terrain management skills taught in Avalanche Skills Training 1. It delivers big mountain concepts at your level and allows you to develop advanced winter backcountry travel skills and build experience in just one day.
Prerequisite: Must have taken your AST 1

- Skills to help you plan, prepare for and execute a safe backcountry trip
- Techniques to minimize risk when traveling in the backcountry
