Refund Option Policy
*Please note – this is not an insurance product. If you are looking for an insurance product, please contact a licensed insurance broker.
There is no option to add the Refund Option to your Season Pass after you have purchased it – they must be purchased concurrently. The following information describes the benefits and provisions of the Refund Option. You should read it with care so that you will understand your protection. All Season Pass products are illegal to resell under British Columbia law.
THE REFUND OPTION DOES NOT COVER ANY INTERRUPTION, SHUTDOWN, OR SHORTENING OF SEASON LENGTH AT THE RESORT FOR ANY REASON, INCLUDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
All Whitewater Ski Resort Season Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable. The Refund Option provides guests with the eligibility for a portion of their Season Pass to be refunded in the event of one or more of the “Qualifying Incidents” described below. We encourage all guests to consider purchasing the Refund Option as we have a strict policy in regard to issuing refunds. To protect the validity of the Refund Option, we ONLY consider refunds if the Refund Option was purchased.
Qualifying Incidents
1. Injury or illness of a Passholder preventing participation in the sport for the remainder of the season.
- i) “Injury” means a bodily injury, caused by an accident and resulting directly and independently of all other causes, and which requires treatment by a Doctor;
- ii) “Sickness” means an illness, disease, or injury, which requires treatment by a Doctor;
- iii) “Doctor” means a licensed medical practitioner, acting within the scope of his or her license, which person may not be the Reserving Guest, Family Member, or Traveling Companion.
2. Passholder is involuntarily relocated by an employer-initiated decision. Passholder must have been an active employee for the same employer for at least one year prior to purchasing the Season Pass and the Refund Option. Job separation must occur following the effective date of coverage. Coverage is not applicable to temporary employment, independent contractors, or self-employed persons. Relocation of the Passholder’s primary residence must be at least 200 kilometres further in distance from the Resort than the Passholder’s primary residence at the time of purchase (as determined by a Google Maps search).
Claims Procedure
1. All Claims will be based on the date of first contact with Whitewater Ski Resort after the Qualifying Incident. To submit a claim, please contact Whitewater's Indoor Guest Services department at or (250) 354-4944. To file a claim for protection, written documentation verifying the Qualifying Incident is required, including but not limited to:
- a Doctor’s verified statement on official medical letterhead;
- a letter from your employer.
2. This protection is subject to the exclusions shown and all other terms of the Refund Option Policy.
3. The Resort reserves the right to reject a claim if any relevant information is false, omitted, or if the claim is submitted more than 15 days after the Qualifying Incident.
4. The refund will only be considered if the Pass is returned and will no longer be used.
5. It is up to you to ensure you reach out to Whitewater Ski Resort to communicate the Qualifying Incident as the date of contact will be the date used to determine the refund amount along with the number of days skied this season.

Parent Passes
Parent Season Pass use is based on scanned data, regardless of the parent that has used the Pass. The Refund Option applies to the transferable Season Pass for both parents. If one of the parents has a Qualifying Incident, follow the claims procedure, and you will receive a refund based on the price paid compared to the Early Bird Adult Season Pass rate so the other parent can still ski or ride. If both parents have a Qualifying Incident, follow the claim procedures to receive a refund.
