Embark on a backcountry challenge like never before at the ROAM Arc'teryx Backcountry Relay as part of Coldsmoke 2024.
This thrilling event is designed to test your abilities and elevate your backcountry skills, all while having a blast on the hill and dressing up in creative costumes. Get ready for an event designed to push your limits, reward you, and show off your prowess among likeminded backcountry enthusiasts!
The Relay consists of teams of two performing four challenges. Teams will need to bring a frying pan to carry with them along each step of the relay (so the lighter the better)! When the 1st teammate finishes step 3, they will tag the 2nd teammate and pass off the frying pan. Only when the 2nd teammate finishes step 3, both teammates can get started on building their fire. But while the 1st teammate is waiting for the second to return, feel free to get creative - that applies to gear too!
And don't forget that you'll have to eat the fried egg, so you'll definitely want to make sure it's cooked all the way through (seasoning optional)!

Before the relay, we'll ask each team to estimate how long it will take them to complete the entire course. We'll have a podium for the three fastest teams, plus some stellar swag courtesy of our friends at ROAM and Arc'teryx for best costume and best matched time. So don't worry if you're not the speediest; just bring your stoke and you could win some incredible prizes.
Cost: $30 per person
Gear Required: Skis / splitboard, helmet, transceiver, shovel, probe
Items provided: Matches, kindling, wood, egg, cooking oil
*A Season Pass or Lift Ticket is required. ROAM Arc'teryx Backcountry Relay participants who do not have a Season Pass are eligible for 25% off All Mountain Full-Day Lift Tickets at Guest Services. There will be no refunds for this event. All registrations are final.*
